100 Points!

Welcome to our mid-week new product summary. In this blog, we're able to feature a few of the newest products to reach our shelves. As always, consult a store team member for a complete review of the newest arrivals.

Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes 2009

Simply one of the world's greatest wines. 100 points from Wine Advocate. 99 points from Wine Enthusiast. 98 points from Wine Spectator. A range of 97-100 from Tanzer's International Wine Cellar.
From the Wine Advocate review:  "The 2009 Chateau d’Yquem is one showstopper of a wine and perhaps it is only in a vertical that you realize this is up there among the legendary wines of the past – the 2001 included. It has a wonderful nose that expresses the Semillon component majestically: heady aromas of lemon curd, nectarine, jasmine and honeysuckle that all gain momentum in the glass. The oak is supremely well-integrated. The palate is extremely well-balanced with an unctuous entry. You are immediately knocked sideways by the palpable weight and volume in the mouth, which is almost “bulbous,” with layer upon layer of heavily botrytized fruit. It builds to a spicy finish with hints of marzipan and pralines in the background that lend it an untrammeled sense of exoticism. The 2009 is utterly fabulous and decadent, a star that will blaze brightly and undimmed for many years. Drink now-2060+."

The Wine Spectator review: "Dense and unctuous, but with lacy detail already showing along the edges, as light toasty hazelnut and piecrust notes lead the way for creamed melon, mango and pineapple flavors, with hints of green plum and honeysuckle. There's mouthwatering drive on the finish, which drips with a rosehip honey note that keeps pulling you back. Stunning. Best from 2020 through 2055."

Extremely limited availability. $429.99 in the Bottle Club®, 375ml.

TINCUP American Whiskey

As bourbon and other American whiskey products have surged in popularity (that's the stated reason for Maker's Mark to consider reducing the proof on their bourbon), a craft distiller boom has followed. And Colorado just might be the new Kentucky.

TINCUP is made in Colorado, from a blend of corn, rye and malt cut with pure Rocky Mountain water. Technically speaking, TINCUP is a bourbon, but it does have a very high rye content. With this unique mash bill and extraordinarily pure water, TINCUP is bolder and spicier than most bourbons.

And the cap doubles as a drinking cup. Available for $33.49.

Jean Chartron Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Cailleret 2011

A beautiful Burgundy, rated at 92 points by Wine Spectator. Their review: "A fluid version, sporting peach, lemon cake, green apple and chalk dust flavors. Racy and taut, this builds the long, mineral-tinged finish. Blossoms in the glass. Best from 2015 through 2021. 12 cases imported."
