Winter Weather Cocktails

Another monster snow storm heading our way? Might as well experiment with some winter cocktails. Sure beats shoveling snow.

The Blizzard Cocktail

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces Jameson Irish whiskey
1/2 ounce Frangelico
1/2 ounce Bailey's Irish cream liqueur
Hot coffee
Whipped cream

Method
Stir the first three ingredients together in a glass mug. Fill to desired level with coffee, top with whipped cream. Sit inside and watch the storm.

The Midnight Snowstorm

Ingredients
2 oz Boulaine White Creme de Menthe
Hot Chocolate
1/2 oz Boulaine Green Creme de Menthe
Whipped cream

Method
Pour white crème de menthe and hot chocolate into an Irish coffee glass mug. Top with whipped cream. Drizzle the Green Creme de Menthe over the top. Sit inside and watch the storm.

The Brandy Crusta

Ingredients
8 ounces Hine VSOP cognac
3 ounces lemon juice
2 ounces Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
2 ounces Marie Brizard orange curacao

Method
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled, sugar-rimmed wine glass filled with an entire lemon and orange peel. Sit inside and watch the storm.

Satan's Whiskers

Ingredients
3 ounces Tanqueray gin
3 ounces sweet vermouth
3 ounce dry vermouth
2 ounces orange juice
2 ounces Grand Marnier
2 dashes orange bitters

Method
Shake all ingredients with cracked ice, serve in a chilled cocktail glass. Sit inside and watch the storm.

Note that this recipe would be considered Satan's Straight Whiskers. Satan's Curled Whiskers would substitute Cointreau for the Grand Marnier. After you make that change, sit inside and watch the storm.
