New Product Posting

That's about as alliterative as we can get today. We're deep in to our busiest time of the year, but we're also still accepting deliveries of new products and new vintages of preferred wines. Here are just a few of our recent or upcoming deliveries.

Willett Rye, Exploratory Cask Finish Project

For this first release of the Exploratory Cask Finish Project, select barrels of seven-year-old American Rye Whiskey were finished in Curacao Casks, sourced from France, for approximately 90 days. The mash bill is 95% Rye, 5% Malted Barley.

Nose: Natural oak, spicy, earthy notes, and, after a little while in the glass, wonderful rich caramel notes.

Palate: Plenty of citrus notes (particularly oranges!), maple syrup prevalent with lots of rye hanging out in the background. This Rye Whiskey contains both fruit and spice elements.

Finish: Herbal, the fruit notes and rye grain are still present, but calm down considerably. Light oak notes show their face once again.

Overview: For a Rye Whiskey that is fairly high in ABV (51.7%), this drinks rather easily. Sweet citrus and caramel notes prevail on the front of the palate with light oak notes on the back end.

This is an allocated whiskey with extremely limited availability. Priced at $119.99. Also look for the Willett 9 year old Bourbon.

Sledgehammer Wines

We've brought in three different wines from Sledgehammer. These are great as an every day wine. The Sledgehammer Man is a bit of a throwback. He has no interest in the rituals of wine idolatry. He reserves his words for a great toast, not a diatribe on the Bordeaux region. He drinks wine, never sips it. He demonstrates the virtues of men from a by-gone era – hard work, self-reliance, and chivalry – and he prizes the simple things in life: spending good times with close friends.

To accompany and enhance these good times, his drink of choice is Sledgehammer.

Sledgehammer Forged Red is for the man who prefers drinking good wine more than talking about it. It’s wine that does not beg to be analyzed or over-thought. Simply put, it’s a blend of red wines that tastes good. It enhances good meat and good times.

Never mind the French-sounding name, the Cabernet Sauvignon is All-American. Grown in Northern California, the Sledgehammer Cab offers a smooth, rich flavor that pairs well with prime steaks, not baguettes and pâté.

This is not the elegant, delicate sipping wine that you’d find at your grandma’s bridge club. To the contrary, Sledgehammer Zinfandel is big, bold, and spicy. It pairs well with grilled meat and loud music.

Sledgehammer wines are available in the Bottle Club® for only $7.98 each.

Tomatin 14 Year Old

This whisky is soft and smooth with significant sweet influence from the Port casks. After spending time maturing in traditional oak casks, this particular Tomatin spends the last year of its maturation exclusively in Port pipes.

Aroma - Honeydew melon, red berries, baked apples. Rich toffee, butterscotch. Sweet honey and bitter dark chocolate.

Taste - Fruit and nut. Peaches, apricots, mango and plum. Mixed Walnut and Pecan.

Finish – Smooth fruit salad which lingers on the palate.

Limited availability, at $72.99. Something delicious for the whisky lover on your gift list!

As always, there are too many new products every week for us to list in this blog. Please ask any store team member for assistance if you're looking for our newest items.
