New Year Grab Bag

Welcome to 2015. At Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville and Woodbridge, we're committed to continuing to offer you the lowest prices possible and best service available in New Jersey. Please let us know about the good, and where we can improve.

Events in Lawrenceville

Starting next week, we're back to our regular wine tasting schedule, Friday's from 4-6pm and Saturday's from 2-4pm. Please note that we will close at 4pm on Monday, January 12, for inventory. College football fans especially want to note that closing time.

Events in Woodbridge

In Woodbridge, we're also back to our regular wine tasting schedule, 4-6pm every Friday and 1-3pm every Saturday. Woodbridge will close at 4pm for inventory on Tuesday, January 13.

Both stores will feature a tasting/bottle signing of Tim Smith's Climax Moonshine on Saturday, January 31. In Lawrenceville, it'll be noon-2pm and then 4-6pm in Woodbridge.

A moonshiner from Climax, VA, Tim Smith doesn’t like being told what he can or can’t do. So when people said he’d never go legit, he did it anyway. Despite his general disregard for authority, Tim’s become quite an authority himself. He knows what good, pure and strong should taste like. He may be legit, but make no mistake – Tim Smith and his Climax Moonshine are the real deal.

At any given moment you will find Tim’s dog Camo by his side. She has been Tim’s sidekick and ever present companion since his days in the backwoods of Virginia where she stood watch while he perfected his recipe for his world famous moonshine. As a reward for her loyalty you will see her face on every bottle of Tim Smith’s Climax Moonshine.

The Original Recipe Moonshine is distilled from corn, rye and barley malt. Clean and natural tasting with a subtle sweetness and bold defiance.

New Products

1908 Boal, Madeira Pereira d'Oliveira. Impressively dark of hue, this venerable Boal overwhelms with a nose of dark chocolate, tar and old Cognac. Figs and bonfires complete the profile, which is intense and uncompromising. With a youthfulness that belies its age, this is an exceptionally good illustration of the magical soothing powers of fine old Madeira.

"The 1908 Boal Reserva from D’Oliveiras is an unctuous, full-bodied wine loaded with dark maple syrup, tar, leather, licorice and sweet baking spices. There is superb density here and the wine shows terrific length in an intense style. The finish is long, bright and sweet." - Antonio Galloni; 94 points.

One bottle is available in each store, at $494.99 in the Bottle Club®.

As always, we have plenty of New Products not listed in this section. Please check with our store teams for a complete review of our New Products.
