What's New

Joe Canal's is adding a number of Antis Wines products to our portfolio.

"Antis Wines is dedicated to producing premium and reserve wines in Mendoza. Argentina. We are located in Maipu on the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Our philosophy is centered on achieving wines that speak of the land where they are born and crafted. We believe that our task is to recreate and enhance the potential contained in the grapes, using state of the art knowledge, the best materials and latest technology."

Look for the Antis Reserve Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, priced at $12.96 in the Bottle Club®, with the Classic Red Blend and Torrontes available at $9.96 in the Bottle Club®.

We're also receiving a number of new, highly-rated Bordeaux wines. At on end of the spectrum is the 2010 Chateau La Lagune Haut Medoc. This rated 94 points from Wine Advocate. Their review: "Another great success from proprietress Caroline Frey, the 2010 La Lagune provides an essential drinking experience, with notes of Asian plum sauce, mulberries, kirsch liqueur and black currants. The wine also exhibits a savory, rich smokiness and subtle lead pencil shaving notes. Full-bodied and pure, combining both elegance and power, this is a brilliant, very approachable effort that should hit its stride in 5-7 years and last for at least two decades. Think of it as a hypothetical blend of the 2005 and 2009. Kudos!" Available in the Bottle Club® for only $54.99.

Way into the Fine Wine part of the spectrum is the 2010 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild. In the first tasting, Wine Advocate rated it in the 97-100 point range. A second tasting yielded a rating of 98+ points. The review: "Only 49% of the production made it into the 2010 Mouton Rothschild, which has a strikingly beautiful label by Jeffrey Koons. This is a truly great wine, with a very high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (94%) and the other 6% Merlot. At 13.9% natural alcohol, Mouton’s director, Philippe Dhalluin, has clearly produced another 50- to 60-year wine that has a chance at perfection in about 15 years time, when I suspect this wine will be rounding into drinking condition. It is dense, rich and full-bodied, with the classic Mouton creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice and floral notes, but also some blueberry and hints of subtle espresso and mulberry. The wine has more minerality and precision than the rich, extravagantly opulent 2009, and while that may please some, others will have their patience tested as they wait and wait for this compelling Mouton Rothschild to hit full maturity."

At this point, the Chateau Mouton-Rothschild is only available at our Woodbridge store, for the Bottle Club® price of $699.99. All of these recent Bordeaux selections are available in limited quantities. To secure any of these wines, contact the Wine Manager at Lawrenceville or Woodbridge.

Absolut Texas

Absolut vodka with cucumber and Serrano chili flavor.

The taste is rich and smooth with notes of fresh cucumber, and a warm spicy character; a flavor inspired by Southwestern cuisine, which is as unique and authentic as Texas. It pairs well with a myriad of ingredients, such as cranberry, cilantro and grapefruit soda.

Available now in Lawrenceville; coming soon to Woodbridge. Priced at $22.99.
