End of Week Grab Bag

We may finally catch a break with the weekend weather, and we have plenty of reasons for you to visit Joe Canal's while you're out over the next couple of days. As usual, we start with...

Events in Lawrenceville

We have our regular wine tastings this weekend. The times are 4-6pm on Friday, and 2-4pm on Saturday. Click here for the menu, which is the same for both days.

Events in Woodbridge

We will also have our regular wine tastings in Woodbridge. The times are 4-6pm Friday, and 1-3pm on Saturday. Click here for the menu, which is the same for both days.

The weekend wraps up after hours on Sunday, with our 2nd Annual Art Show & Wine tasting. You can sample from up to 20 different wines, and view the work of nearly a dozen local artists. A portion of your $10 admission fee will go the Woodbridge Domestic Violence Response team. Click here for complete details.

There's plenty more on the Woodbridge Events calendar. Click here for the full list.

New Products

Game of Thrones blew up from having a cult following to mass appeal, and Brewery Ommegang's season-opening brews have followed the same path. For the new season, they've introduced Three-Eyed Raven, a Dark Saison Ale.

As a specialty release, there is a very limited amount of Three-Eyed raven available. As of this writing (Friday morning), there are no limits in place in Lawrenceville. However, there is a 2-bottle per person limit in Woodbridge. We do not anticipate getting any more once this allocation is gone, so grab some while you still can.

Maker's Mark Cask Strength Bourbon

It wasn't that long ago that we were talking about a shortage of Maker's Mark, so we're glad to see that issue was resolved.

Straight from the barrel to the bottle at 108 to 114 proof, Maker’s Mark® Cask Strength retains the signature front-of-the-palate flavors of Maker’s Mark® – while amping up the oak, caramel, vanilla and spice to create a remarkable new bourbon.

Available in the Bottle Club® for $54.99.

High West American Prairie Bourbon

This is an intriguing blend of three different straight Bourbons.

  • Whiskey #1: 2-year-old bourbon, mashbill 75% corn, 20% rye, 5% barley malt, from Indiana.
  • Whiskey #2: 6-year-old bourbon from Kentucky
  • Whiskey #3: 13-year-old bourbon from Kentucky

High West will donate 10% of after tax profits from each bottle to the American Prairie Foundation, which preserves a 5000 square mile tract in Montana.

Tasting notes: Nose: Sweet caramel, vanilla, and honey.
Taste: Thick and rich on the palate. Well balanced flavors of honey nougat, candy corns, sweet corn bread biscuits, juicy fruit gum and caramel apple with a dose of cinnamon and spice.
Finish: A long, sweet finish.

Available for only $32.99.
