Friday Grab Bag

It's a clock touching weekend. Anything that doesn't auto-reset (we're looking at you, microwave oven) needs to get set ahead by one hour on Saturday night. Don't lose that hour of sleep-stay awake til the time change!

The start of DST gets us one hour closer to the debut of Fat Tire Amber Ale on Monday. We have space reserved in our fridge for a six-pack.

Easter seems to be early this year; it's Sunday, March 27. Our stores will be open from 9am-4pm that day. Don't worry-we'll remind you again once or twice. Easter and Passover are usually close together, but not this year. You'll have plenty of time to shop for Kosher for Passover wine. We'll elaborate on that topic in early April, and we'll soon review some great beer and wine selections for your Easter dinner.

Store Events

The calendars for our Lawrenceville and Woodbridge stores are packed, as usual, with the best events in New Jersey. In each store, there's so much going on that we covered everything in yesterday's blog post. Click here for that post. Click here for the Lawrenceville calendar. Click here for Woodbridge.

New Products

Founders Curmudgeon Old Ale. Think classic seafaring ports, local pubs and weathered old fishermen. This old ale is brewed with molasses and an insane focus on the malt bill, then oak-aged. The result is a rich, malty delight that’s deceptively smooth and drinkable. 9.8% ABV, 50 IBU's, RateBeer Rating:98. In 4-packs, for a very limited time.

The Calling Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from the famous Alexander Valley, this full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon presents black currant, coffee and French oak notes of hazel-nut on the nose. On the palette black currant and black cherry lead to flavors of sweet tobacco, vanilla and a long lingering finish. Big tannins and
oak structure will age this wine for 10-12 years.

The Alexander Valley consists of a broad valley floor bisected by the Russian River.  It is surrounded by hills that block the coastal fog, keeping the region warmer than most of its neighbors.  This climate, combined with well-drained, gravelly soils, help the Alexander Valley produce some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes available.
