Your Social Calendar

As the weather improves, everyone wants to get outside. Stop in to Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville and Woodbridge, where we have the wine, beer and spirits that you want to have when you're finally able to enjoy being outside.

Our events are where you can sample products that might interest you, and they are often available at discounted or introductory prices. Below is a look at our upcoming events. First, however, is a reminder that we will begin selling New Belgium's Fat Tire Amber Ale at both stores on Monday.

Events in Lawrenceville

We have our regular wine tastings on Friday and Saturday. Actually, the Friday tasting menu is modified a little bit to accommodate the Prairie Organic Vodka tasting. Click here for the Friday wine tasting menu; hours are 4-6pm. Click here for the Saturday wine tasting menu; hours are 2-4pm.

You noticed that we slipped in a mention of a Prairie Organic Vodka tasting. That's set for Friday, 5-7pm. Prairie’s single vintage organic corn is distilled to taste, not a prescribed number of times. That’s because climate, soil, and moisture levels give each small batch its own unique character. Preserving that character takes personal attention, giving our spirits an award-winning taste that can stand on its own.

Next weekend, in addition to our regular wine tasting on Friday, we'll have a special tasting of
Beaujolias wine on Saturday, 3/19, from noon-3pm. Most people are aware of Beaujolais Nouveau, released annually on the third Thursday of November, but there's a lot more to the category. Gamay-driven Beaujolias can be a nice addition to any dinner table.

Later in the day on the 19th, we're offering a tasting of the Best Damn Cherry Cola. The hard soda category is expanding rapidly, so don't miss out on this hot new trend.

Looking further ahead, we already have Goose Island, Strongbow, Bud Light Lime-a-Rita Splash, LandShark, Heineken and Blue Point tastings on the agenda. Don't miss a thing-click here to see our full Event Calendar.

Events in Woodbridge

The weekend starts tonight in Woodbridge, with a Guinness tasting, from 5:30-8pm. With St. Patrick's Day exactly one week from today, we think this is a nice way to pre-game the holiday.

Friday is an unofficial holiday for craft beer fans. We're having a sampling of Forgotten Boardwalk's Pocket Trick Imperial IPA, 5-7pm. This highly sought-after beer is available in limited quantities, for a limited time. It's almost a secondary issue, but one of Forgotten Boardwalk's brewers will be on hand as well.

And we are back to our regularly scheduled wine tasting on Saturday, from 1-3pm. Click here for the tasting menu.

After the wine tasting on Saturday, we have a special tasting and bottle engraving session, featuring Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye and Apple. With graduations and Father's Day approaching, this is a great opportunity to scratch those gifts off your list.

Next weekend will also start on Thursday, with a tasting that will feature New Belgium's beers. We're getting much more than Fat Tire. We expect to have Hop Stout, Ranger IPA, Citradelic and Rampant Imperial IPA, as well as Fat Tire, at the Growler station. This will be available 5-7pm next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We continue with our own Beaujolais tasting on Friday, 3/18. Click here for details. Saturday, 3/19 will include a tasting of Irish whiskies, including Jameson 18 year old. Click here for more information. And Saturday, 3/19 will also include an engraving session for Bulleit Bourbon.

Moving from there, the schedule includes Mint Julep tastings, samples of Smirnoff Sourced Vodka, Jim Beam Kentucky Fire and so much more. Click here for the full event calendar at Woodbridge.

At Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville and Woodbridge, we like to say that we have the best store events in New Jersey. This page, which shows only the next 10 or so days, serves to confirm that. But the events only succeed when you stop in and participate. We look forward to serving you.
